Born in Haiti, Cassiany Alexandre moved to the United States in 2005 with his family in search for a better life that offers many opportunities. After completing the last two years of secondary school, he entered York College- CUNY in the spring of 2007 in hope of pursuing a career in Clinical Laboratory Science. His interest in Chemistry began shortly after taking introductory chemistry classes. He worked as a tutor in the chemistry department and was offered the opportunity to do research with Dr. Mande Holford. His research focuses on the Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS) of Teretoxins from the Terebridae family and their characterization by HPLC and Mass Spectrometry.
